Ten Cards You Should Never Fail To Send

A few times, I have heard people say that Facebook and the internet as a whole will completely kill the greeting card industry; but I doubt this will ever happen. Even though it’s now possible to create a card on the computer or phone and send it online, most people dislike e-cards and prefer cards that they can write on, touch and see, and even place somewhere in their room. Keeping that in mind, here are ten types of cards you should never fail to send to anyone close to you.

1. Anniversary card

Sending a Facebook message to your spouse is fine; but when it’s a message meant to replace that of a card on your anniversary, it just can never work. Even if you feel cards are an extra cost, this is one occasion when you shouldn’t fail to get one.

Not only have I seen truth in your eyes, you remind me of time itself; for you are my past, present, future, and forever.
I love you.
Happy Anniversary.

2. Thank You card

Some of us tend to have a hard time using words such as ’sorry’ and ‘thank you’ .This shouldn’t be the case though. It’s always good to gather your courage and apologise for that stupid mistake, or say thank you for that thoughtful act of kindness that someone showed when you were too proud to ask for help.

3. Birthday Card

Birthdays come and go every year but despite that, I am yet to meet anyone who doesn’t like to have their special day remembered. Whether it’s your parents, kids, spouse, colleague, or friend, sending them a birthday card will go a long way into making their day more meaningful.

4. Baby shower

Do you have any friend who is just about to have their first child? Or maybe an aunty who can’t wait to welcome her newborn into the world? Giving them a beautiful card alongside something they could use for their child will surely make them appreciate the gesture.

5. Sympathy card

When a friend loses a loved one, nothing will be more important to them than having someone who can hold their hand. Thus, as you make time to be with them, you can also send them a sympathy card. Ideally, it should be one with a handwritten, comforting message.

6. Get well soon card

Giving a get well card to someone who’s sick can greatly help cheer them up. As you plan to visit them in the hospital therefore, you should make an effort to get them a card as well. A card with a cheesy or funny message should do the trick.

I know you miss coming to work!
Get well soon. Now.
Love,
Boss.

7. Valentine's card

February the 14th is a day that we all look forward to and since it only comes once a year, it’s good to join everyone else in sharing the love with others. Even if you can’t afford to buy those flowers and chocolates, you can send your loved one a card with a heart-warming message to let them know why the mean the world to you.

8. Congratulations card

Whether one is graduating with their first degree or a master’s, graduation is always a much anticipated event. Thus, it’s good to give a card to the person graduating to show them that you are happy for them as well. A job promotion is yet another great achievement; hence you shouldn’t   miss the chance to show your support with a card when that friend or family member gets promoted.

9. Mother’s day card

There are so many people and things to love in this world; but of all of them, none matters as much as your mother. After all, without her, you would never be in this world in the first place. This is why you need to show her your love with a gift and a card on mother’s day.

10. Father’s day card

If you believe there’s no one like your father in the world and have been longing to let him know this but can’t figure out how and when to do it, you should take advantage of father’s day. Then, you can get a card and write down all your feelings so he knows that you truly appreciate his presence in your life.

Do you send paper cards often? If you do, what type of cards do you send? Do you feel that there’s any particular one we missed on this list? Share with us in the comment box below.
