Organizing a Surprise Party

There’s nothing as exciting as planning a surprise party; the deception that goes into it and the amazement on the main guest’s face are always things to look forward to. Besides, even after the event is over, it remains an interesting topic of discussion for months. But what should you do to keep that party from backfiring and make it an unforgettable one? Here’s some info to help.

Planning

When you intend to buy an expensive gadget or go for a trip, you have to begin by planning so you are able to set aside the needed time and resources .Given that, you shouldn’t make any exceptions when it comes to a surprise party. From the cake and the drinks to the cards and the entertainment, you need to know what to get, where to get it, and how much you’ll need. Besides, you also need to craft a plan on how to deceive the guest being honoured so they do not find out about your wicked plan before the day arrives.

 Organizing the party

No matter the plan you put in place, you should ultimately ensure that it’s something the loved one will enjoy. If you know they would prefer an intimate event where only a few friends and relatives are present, it wouldn’t make sense to go all out and invite 30 of their workmates. Besides, in general, a simple party is always better (and cheaper!)

If you want to make the guest even more surprised though, you might want to have some very old friends over; probably people they haven’t seen or been with for a while. This is something you should be able to work out as long as you know the person well enough. Still, since asking them for those people’s contacts will get them suspicious, you can steal these from their phone or email; and with that, you’ll be good to go!

As well as that, it’s always good to hold the event in a location that is of sentimental value to the individual. You could therefore consider having it in your home (or theirs) or hiring a venue that you know they love. As long as your budget allows, there’s no limit as to where you can go.

Keeping the guest in the dark

When the day comes, you have to think of a way to get the person there on time and in good shape. The last thing you want is to be planning a party when they have already made arrangements to take trip out of town, go out to the club with someone else, or organise their own party in another venue. Besides, as you entice the guest you want to keep acting as normal as possible so you don’t draw any suspicion. Don’t be too eager to get them back to the house and if they bump into you in a group while you are discussing the surprise, don’t suddenly go quiet and say nothing is going on. Leaving evidence such as cards, balloons, and gifts lying around isn’t advisable either.

Also, on the day, you don’t want the guest to catch you and every other attendee trying to hide just when they have arrived (unless of course you are part of the cast in a comedy)In
short, whatever you do, it should be all about being on top of everything while keeping the main guest at the bottom:). Good luck!
